Clarksville Visit...long overdue post!

In February we went to Clarksville to visit friends from our time at Ft. Campbell.  My friend Kat's husband left for Afghanistan the day before we arrived.  We were glad we could be a comfort and distraction for them during those rough couple of days.   The McNeal's are dear to our hearts.  Even though our husbands have spent very little time together because of their deployment schedules, we are thankful for their friendship and hope our paths cross often in our military journey.  Our days there were full of many wonderful memories and seeing old friends.  Our kids played hard, giggled and talked for hours (it seemed!) when they were all trying to sleep in the same room, and Kat and I stayed up talking late into each night.  Kat is an amazing woman of God and even through the fresh pain of her husband leaving, she encouraged me in Lord.  I have met few people that can balance so many responsibilities and remain so committed and genuine with peop...

FRG Happenings

I have spent hundreds of hours (literally!) during this deployment working on FRG activities and responsibilities.  Unfortunately, I rarely remember to get my camera out!  Here are a few pictures of a few events over the past several months.   On March 12th we hosted a Squadron wide family event.  The theme was Dr. Seuss.  There were activities for the kids, green eggs and ham and pancakes for breakfast and a Minute to Win It challenge that spanned 3 continents!    My responsibility for the day was to organize the Minute to Win It games.  Each Troop took turns competing against soldiers over the webcam.  It was so much fun! Lorie rockin' the "Face the Cookie" challenge.  You place a cookie on your forehead and try to get it in your mouth without using your hands. Rebecca, Kat, Gwen and RaeAnn cheering her on!   Alicia and Keara watching the competitors   Kerrie taking her turn! She had to stack 6 dice on a popsicle stic...

PCB

Panama City Beach is a tradition with my family each year.  My Aunt Sue and Uncle John own a condo there and we have been going every summer for almost 20 years!   Thankfully the girls and I were in Georgia and we were able to drive down with my parents for the whole week.  Unfortunately my brother's family couldn't make it this year!  We missed them!  Of course we missed Chad too! Like typical kids - the pool was the FAVORITE place to be! Mya was tough in the pool though b/c she just wanted to swim like her sister!  She would walk right of the steps if we'd let her.   Addison wanted to practice without her swimmies.  She did really well, but was scared of putting her face in the water at first.   Dinner at the Shrimp Boat The BEACH!!  The waves were amazing (for the Gulf anyways!) This was right before I got a pretty painful sunburn that would put me out of the sun for most of the week!  Ouch!  Riding t...
