Dish Network Dissatisfaction

I would not normally be one to complain about company policy, much less rant about it to others...however Dish Network deserves a little shout out...especially good info to those of you in the military! We have been very happy DirecTV customers for years, but when we made this move, we decided to see what other services were offered and since Dish Network would give us a free HD DVR and our rental house already had a Dish Network Dish, we went with them. A few weeks ago I began calling to schedule our utilities to be turned off when we moved and Dish Network was on my list. The lady told me to call back the day I wanted service disconnected. She warned me that I was under contract and I told her it was a move on military orders. She reassured me they had a military clause and thanked me for my service. After calling back 2 times this week I got a very different answer from 2 different people - the military clause only applies to the person actually in the military. The conversat...

Stuff, Stuff and more Stuff

It is quite the experience to watch all of your belongings get packed up to move across the country! I am so very thankful that the Army takes care of all the packing and moving for us. There is no way I would want to do all this packing myself...no matter how much the Army would pay me to do it!! This move is a little different because we are going somewhere we've never been before and we don't know how long it will take us to find somewhere to live once we get there. Going from Alabama to New York with stops in Georgia and Colorado in between means lots of different types of clothes and plenty of toys and DVDs to keep Addison busy on the way. Originally we were going to pull a small trailer to make sure we could carry everything we would need, but since Chad broke his elbow, we didn't think him driving with one arm, hauling a trailer all the way to New York was the best option! It will be interesting to see if we can get everything in our cars!! We are praying it do...

Crazy time to start a blog

First of all, starting a blog at 4:00 AM is probably not the wisest thing...especially when we start our move across the country in just 3 days! I have been wanting to start a blog for a while now, but just haven't made the time. You might see lots of posts at random hours of the morning for a few reasons... 1. its generally the only time of peace and quiet in my house that I could sit down and type 2. I tend to have a lot of trouble going back to sleep if one of my girls wakes up during the night I do think blogs are amusing things...not sure why you would want to read the detailed accounts of our day to day life. I however, enjoy reading friends' blogs, so I assume this will be informative and humorous to some. I do look forward to the memories a blog will preserve. I enjoy scrapbooking, but rarely have the time to sit down and pull out all my stuff, plus I'm not always the best at having my camera handy (however I am getting better about that now that I have a Cano...
