Christmas & trip to GA

We left for GA on December 18th.  Chad had class in the city, so the girls and I headed down to pick him up and be on our way.   If you hate touristy things in NYC...just skip this section!  We try not to be crazy tourist, but we don't know the city well enough to always know where to go other than touristy places.  We had to stop and get a picture in front of the tree.  It was wet and cold!  Not the kind of weather to hang out and do much of anything.  After a few pictures, we headed to Bill's Burgers on 51st.  The burgers were really good and the milkshakes looked fantastic...maybe next time. We stopped in New Jersey for the night and headed to Raleigh to Chad's grandparents the next day.  The girls absolutely love going to their house.  They have a little dog, Missy, that the girls keep busy during their visit!  We kept telling Mya we were going to Daddy's grandma's house; when we got out she looked at Grandm...

Girls' Birthday and Gender Reveal

The joy of having two birthdays around Christmas is a busy few weeks!  We are normally in GA over their birthdays and decided to have their party there again this year.  We kept it pretty simple with a Barbie/Minnie Mouse theme.  Our plan was to take Addison, Mya and Lilly to lunch at Chick-fil-a, games at Chuck e Cheese then back to Chad's parents' house for dessert.  Unfortunately on the way to Chuck e Cheese Mya got car sick!  We had no change of clothes so we had to turn around and head back to get her cleaned up.   On a side note, we had heard about a place in Atlanta called Stork Vision that only does 3D/4D Ultrasounds and will do early standard ultra sounds to determine gender.  It came highly recommended and at the last minute we got an appointment 2 days before the girls' party.  We wanted to wait and find out the gender with our families, we did not find out during the ultrasound.   "Hello!" She sealed an envelope for...

2013 Goals...Mid-January

I love setting goals I'm just really bad at doing it consistently.  Last year was a non-goal year and I can tell. You aim for nothing, you will hit it every time!  Although I consider feeding, clothing, and home schooling my children while still managing to say hello to my husband and keeping the laundry done are worthy goals that I strive to meet each day...this year I am going to aim a little higher.  Just hold myself accountable more.  I have to give credit to my friend whose blog inspired some of these ideas!  Maybe these could inspire someone else too... Spiritual   Read through Proverbs each day             Complete 3 in-depth Bible Studies Last year one of my only goals was to read through the Bible in a year.  Besides a couple chapters in January, I completed this goal.  It was amazing! This year my parents' church is reading through Proverbs each month and has blog post commentary/tho...

Summer catch up

I wrote this so long ago...apparently I never published it!  Ahh! Here's a quick catch up from our end of summer activities...  On the top of our to do list was the Bronx Zoo (awesome military discount!).  While Wednesdays are free, we chose to go on a Thursday, which proved to be a great choice.  We've heard it is crazy busy on Wednesdays and it wasn't too bad for us.  Our friends the Wyatt's live in the city and since Susan was 39 weeks pregnant, we offered to get their 3 kiddos out of the house for the day.  So we headed off to the zoo with 5 kids under the age of 6.  It was such a great day.  The kids did great.  I was constantly counting kids to make sure we had everyone.  Made we glad we weren't the size of the Duggars.  That would be a lot of counting.   Jack was a great navigator! Taking a break from the walking to watch a puppet show. The best picture of the day - Elliot, Addison, Lillie...
