Interesting Trend

I hate being sick.  Thankfully no one in our family is sick that often.  Unfortunately when we do get sick, we rarely get sick in the comfort of our own home!  Mya has never been sick at home.  The last time I was sick at home was 3 years ago.   I can count on one hand how many times Addison has been sick in her life and they have pretty much all been away from home.

Not sure why this is the trend with our family.  Last night Mya and I starting running fevers. Poor kiddo was up all night.  Sick kiddo and sick mommy make for a long night.

I am very thankful to be here with my parents for all the extra help.

Here's praying we get well and stay well soon.

    Sorry ya'll have been feeling under the weather. For some reason, we always end up in the ER when I am away from Josh. When he was deployed last year I went 4 times in 3 months and how many times have we gone since he's been home? Once 2 weeks ago. Hope ya'll start feeling better soon.

Change of Command

Here are a few pictures from Chad's Change of Command Ceremony. I hope to get more pictures from the official photographer that day. I didn't get any pictures of myself and my White House Black Market dress! :) The Food... Chad and I aren't huge fans of cake, so we got a cookie cake instead from a local bakery. I wish I had taken a picture of the entire table, but I only at time for a few pictures. Everyone was pretty impressed with the spread. My mom taught me how to prepare lots and lots of food and how to make it tasty! Addison kept snagging food before the ceremony started! C-Troop Taking Command! So proud of Chad! We look forward to serving with the Outcast family!

Lake Placid

Over Columbus Day, we decided to take advantage of the time for one more family trip before the deployment. Lake Placid has been on our list of places we wanted to go and we chose to wait until the fall to enjoy seeing all the leaves changing in the Adirondacks. The leaves were a little past peak, but it was still beautiful.  To understand how much we enjoyed this trip, you have to understand how much we enjoy the Olympics.  Let's just say we are Olympic fanatics...the Atwells would understand. :)  On our way in to town, we stopped had lunch at a recommended BBQ place. That afternoon, we only had time to go to one venue before they closed for the day.  If you don't know the history, Lake Placid hosted the Winter Olympics in 1932 and 1980 and is still a site for Olympic training.  First stop - Bobsled, Combination Track   You can pay to ride down the 1932 bobsled course.  It looked fun!
