Apple Pickin'

We have all been looking forward to the opportunity to go Apple Picking!  Last week we drove down to Mexico, NY to a local orchard.  I guess I have never seen an apple tree...they were a lot smaller than I had imagined! First up - Honey Crisp.  I am normally a Granny Smith only kind of girl, but Wow.  These are SO good!  We ate one on the way home.  It was HUGE and so juicy!  MMM! Unfortunately NY's growing season is 4 weeks too short for Granny Smith apples.  The Jenna Blush is supposed to be very similar.    I couldn't believe all the apples on the ground!  I hope they feed them to horse or something.  What a shame for all those to go to waste! Helping Mya pick her apple Who ever had the idea to give away a whistle in a kid's meal has obviously never been in on a long car ride with a child and the afore mentioned whistle! Hopefully we will have a chance to pick more apples before the quickly appro...

Block Leave - Braves Game

Being the baseball fans that we are, going to a Braves game is one of our favorite things to do.  We were excited to be able to go with Chad's brother and his family while in Georgia over block leave.   Turner Field The Braves recently retired Tom Glavine's jersey - one of my favorite players. I love getting to the ballpark early and walking around before the game starts.  We saw Ed and Heba - the winners of Season 6 of the Biggest Loser. Homerin' Hank Tony and Chad about to enter - Dance for your dinner.  I encouraged them to do it, thinking they would would get a coupon for a free hotdog...  Chad didn't make it pass the first round, but Tony made the final three! Showing off his moves!  He made it into the top two!  Turns out - the top two dance on the top of the dugouts during the eighth inning!  Good thing it was Tony and not Chad that made it that far.  Chad is not really a dancing man! view from our seats Our crew Tony dancing ...
