One of the things we are most excited about while living in New York is traveling. After Chad's Change of Command, we drove to Buffalo with Chad's parents to visit some friends and see Niagara Falls. Saturday we went to the American side of the falls. Pictures don't really capture the falls...they are so massive, the mist makes it hard to see and it was overcast both days we were there. One of our favorite places so far here in North Country is Sackets Harbor. It is an adorable little village with restaurants, shops and historical sites nestled right next to a little lake called - Ontario. My mom's visit has been fairly labor intensive with painting, but we decided to take the afternoon off and show my mom around the harbor and have lunch. Addison LOVES walking through the grass without her shoes! We can't wait to go back to Sackets on Sunday for a Fourth of July celebration and fireworks! Here are a few pictures from Chad's Change of Command Ceremony. I hope to get more pictures from the official photographer that day. I didn't get any pictures of myself and my White House Black Market dress! :) The Food... Chad and I aren't huge fans of cake, so we got a cookie cake instead from a local bakery. I wish I had taken a picture of the entire table, but I only at time for a few pictures. Everyone was pretty impressed with the spread. My mom taught me how to prepare lots and lots of food and how to make it tasty! Addison kept snagging food before the ceremony started! C-Troop Taking Command! So proud of Chad! We have definitely been staying busy since we've moved to New York! Between getting settled in the house, Chad taking command, Army events, traveling, visitors and keeping Addison busy...we haven't stopped! Here are a couple events from the past few weeks.. Addison started a soccer clinic at the Y. She was unsure of it at first, but warmed up to it eventually. She is pretty good at dibbling apparently! Soccer is Addison and Daddy time, so I haven't seen her in person. I will probably go to the last Saturday to see her. In two weeks she will start gymnastics and is going to take swimming lessons in August. If you know Addison, you know this kind of schedule is good for her - the busier the better! Little Mya is growing so fast!! She will be 6 months this week! I started her on rice cereal this week - she loved it! I hope she is a better eater than her sister! I feel like so many people rush baby food. To each his own, but I don't start it before I have to. ...

Sorry for the blogging drought! We have been super busy here! Chad takes command tomorrow and I have been preparing all the food for the reception following. In the midst of such a crazy week I also decided to paint our half-bath, Addison had her first day of soccer and I started Mya on cereal! Chad's parents are in town for the ceremony and will stay through the weekend. We are going to Niagara Falls - our first Canadian visit! After such a busy week, I am looking forward to a relaxing weekend and my Mom's visit on Tuesday! yay for visitors! Pictures of everything will be coming soon....
