Curriculum Review 2017-18 I believe I started last year's post by saying "This was the most difficult school year to date." While overall it was a good year, it was different kind of difficult.  A deployment and chronic mastitis were replaced with starting a new Co-Op and writing a book.   While I don't know that I would recommend writing a book in 10 months while homeschooling, during one of the busiest seasons of your husband's job, I am thankful for the year we had.  The past year brought more personal growth for me than any other year.  Homeschooling truly is a refining fire and I am thankful for the lessons we all learn in the process.   Here’s a roundup of what we used this year and how it worked for us: Addison – 5 th  Grade Bible, History, Literature, Geography & Writing – Tapestry of Grace, Year 2, Dialectic...

A digital scrapbook of our week at Disney!  

(It's October 18th...the fact that I just finished our Summer Video is a pretty accurate snapshot into my life these days.) My children have come to expect these digital scrapbooks at the end of every big trip or summer vacation! They get longer each year as I'm not a great editor of my own experiences! Enjoy!!

Curriculum Review 2016-17             This was our most challenging homeschool year thus far.   In the span of 4 months, we had a baby, moved, traveled to Georgia twice and started a deployment.   On top of all of that, I was plagued with chronic mastitis for 11 months.   Throw in a round of the flu, a stomach bug, a baby that didn’t want to sleep through the night, a computer that died during the middle of the year and single parenting in a place where I knew virtually no one…that is a recipe for a long school year.   Despite all of that, we still had a great year.   Yes, it was challenging, but we made the best of it, grew together and even had a little fun in the process!               If you have read any of my previous curriculum posts, you know that I don’t often try new things and strive for “less is more.”   I do not want to over...

We love Disney.   That is evident.   There are a million Disney blogs you can read to gather info on planning a trip.   I enjoy recording our trips for future reference for us in planning and to share what we have learned.   So, if you like planning out your vacation and developing a strategy for the parks – I’ll give you are best info!   If you enjoying winging it at Disney – I’m not your girl and this probably won’t interest you at all!
