So, here we go. I tend to be a very chronological kind of person, but I am going to blog Disney first then back track due to the high volume of requests to see Disney pictures. A little about this trip...we have always said we would never go to Disney with our kids this young, but the military deals they have were too good to pass up. Addison is at the perfect age for everything to be very magical and she is 41" tall with her tennis shoes on, which made it possible for her to ride all but 3 rides! With our next deployment less than 9 weeks away, we are definitely in that "have all the fun we can before Daddy leaves" mode, thus the Disney trip. We were purposely trying to keep this trip low key on Disney standards because we were only staying 4 days, our kids are still young and we wanted to ease into all that is a Disney vacation.
Just a note - I am using these blog posts to help record what we like/disliked about our trip for our future reference when we do this again. Feel free to by pass all the details and just look at the pictures if you get bored!
Tuesday morning we flew down to Orlando to begin our trip! Thankfully we made it on the flight with no issues...once you miss a flight, you never quite recover to be comfortable with flying until you are sitting at the gate! From the moment you step off the plane, Disney takes over! We loved the fact that we didn't even have to pick up our luggage - they get it off the plane and deliver it to your room!
Addison's eyes were wide from the moment we stepped onto the bus!
Checking In - All Star Movies Resort Overall we were very happy with the resort. At this stage of our lives, a Value Resort was the best choice for us. Great things about it - very kid friendly, very affordable, close to Animal Kingdom, Hollywood Studios, and water parks. Downsides - further from the Magic Kingdom, all the bus stops at the parks are further away than other resorts.

Looking around
Not the best picture, but entering our first park - Animal Kingdom. We got to the hotel and let the girls rest, then headed out. Since we only had 1/2 a day, we decided to go to the Animal Kingdom. That evening, the park had extra magic hours, which are hours exclusively for Disney Resort guest. Unfortunately, only certain attractions were open though, so we didn't get to see all the animals.
Great show!
Again, not a great picture, but Addison's first ride at Disney World!

Hands down the best ride was the Kilimangaro Safari. Going to the zoo is not my favorite thing...in my experience, we look at a lot of sleeping animals or looking for the animals in their habitats! This ride takes you into the zoo, just like a real safari!
The autograph book is very important during a Disney stay. Addison waiting in line for her first signatures - Mickey & Minnie!
One of the rides I was looking forward to most was Expedition Everest - a new roller coaster at the Animal Kingdom. Chad decided to go first. We thought it was taking a while for him to come back, when I get a text "I'm stuck on the ride." Halfway through the ride it stopped and they had to come rescue Chad and the other riders! Needless to say, I never got to ride, since the park was about to close. On this trip, we decided not to get Park Hoppers because one park a day was going to be all our girls could handle, so we couldn't go back later in our trip to ride.
Great first day at Disney! It took our girls about 2 seconds to fall asleep once their heads hit the pillows...and if you have ever spent the night in a hotel room with Addison, you know she must have been tired!!!
Up next, Hollywood Studios!
