Still trying to catch up. Here is our trip in August to Cooperstown, NY, home of the
Baseball Hall of Fame
When we first got married, we joke that we were pretty boring folks! We didn't have a lot of money to burn and didn't always have motivation or ideas for fun things to do. In the past year we have made up for years of staying at home! I knew when we moved to Ft. Drum that Cooperstown would be on the top of my list of places to see. I am not one of those wives who hates sports. I love baseball and college football. Even though Chad is from Minnesota, I am fortunate he is a Braves fan! Needless to say I was very excited to head to the Hall of Fame.
The drive was only supposed to take 2 1/2 hours, but of course with kids and nursing, it always takes longer. One of our stops...
We got there in time to grab some dinner, walk around and take a sneak peak at the museum before heading to our hotel. Chad and I were enamored with all things baseball and Addison was enamored with this:
Walking around Cooperstown
We got there about an hour before they closed Friday night. We went ahead and got our tickets, which were good for Saturday as well. We took advantage of the small crowd and went to the Hall of Fame. When we saw the lines and crowd the next day, we were glad we did!

Ryan Sandberg - not only Chad's favorite player, but my friend Lindsey's dad!

Kirby Puckett - another one of Chad's favorites
These statues are carved totally out of wood! Incredible!
We stayed about 20 minutes away in Worcester, NY. This was a B&B I found online. Super nice people, cute mom & pop atmosphere, very clean, but terrible beds!

Major meltdown while waiting on breakfast...so spent some time on the porch until our food came.
Random, I know, but I stopped by the Cooperstown Farmer's Market before we went into the Hall of Fame Saturday morning. It was very cool. I wish I could have bought more! That is one thing I LOVE about living here - all the fresh produce!
We were interested to learn why the Baseball Hall of Fame was out in the middle of No Where New York. We learned that Abner Doubleday is credited with "inventing" baseball in Cooperstown.
I did spare you most of the memorabilia photos, but I had to include a few...
So, Chad told me to take this picture for his dad, now he can't remember why!

Not sure if I would recommend it with little ones is my only thing. Addison wasn't too impressed and got pretty antsy in the stroller! Great trip! Glad we were within driving distance!
